    Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

    CBT involve treatments including understanding, relaxation techniques, Mindfulness, assertiveness training, social skills training, cognitive restructuring, behaviour modification, and exposure techniques.

    The therapist and client work together to identify problematic thinking and behavior patterns with the aim of empowering the individual with effective skills to change these patterns and control in one’s own life.

    Mindfulness

    Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention to the present moment. Over time and with regular practice, many people find that mindfulness can assist them to experience less stress, anxiety and depression and reach greater degrees of self-acceptance.

    You may still experience difficult thoughts and feelings, but you have a greater capacity to be with them, rather than be trapped by them.

    I treat all my patients with respect and make it my personal goal to help you take back control no matter what it takes.

    I have been a registered clinical psychologist since 2005, with a Masters of Social Science with a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology from the University of Waikato. I completed my Philosophy Doctorate with the University of Auckland in 2013.

    I am registered with the New Zealand Board in the clinical scope of practice. I am a member of the Institute of Clinical Psychologists.

    • Fees & Payment

      Fees are payable in cash/eftpos or through online banking.

      Hourly rate is set at $172.50

    • Session Times

      Sessions are one hour in length on average once per week.

    • Referrals

      Referrals can be accepted from your GP or we accept self-referrals. All inquiries are welcome and are strictly confidential.
